How's the weather?

I never really understood why people made small talk about the weather.  In Florida, if you don't like the weather it will change in 15 minutes. Seriously. By the time you start a conversation about the weather it will be something different.

Here it's totally different. I got to Oklahoma almost two weeks ago and every day it has been hot. Really hot. Not Florida hot (which is bearable because it will rain/cloud up within the hour), but sitting next to a campfire and you can't escape hot.

Today is the first day the weather has been different.  I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the sun is shining, the sky is gray, the wind is blowing, and it's raining.  Crazy.  No wonder everyone makes such a big deal out of the weather.

Busy

Hello internet.

The reason I moved to Oklahoma is that I got into a master's program and was offered a position working as a GA in advising to fund my studies.  Well my job started this week and boy am I staying busy.

In a typical week I'll be working less than 30 hours because I'll be in graduate school too, but this week I am on track to work about 40 hours.  I really like my job and the people I'm working with, so it should be great working there! 

I'm so thankful to get this experience and education at such a great school. I'm excited to see what the future holds for me!

Take a Walk

I've been trying to go for walks after dinner.  It gives me a way to pass a little time and also get a little exercise.  Living by yourself is hard. I'm used to having dogs who cuddle up with me and always want my attention and a mom and dad who I can go talk to anytime. 

I took this picture on my walk last night--it's so pretty around here at sunset. You can see so much sky compared to anywhere else I've been, and all that sky makes everything look better. Especially at sunset.
